Olympic star Usain Bolt earned $2.5 billion in 2015
Track and Field superstar Usain Bolt made a total of just over JMD $2.5 billion dollars or the equivalent of USD $21 million dollars for 2015.
The 29 year old reigning Olympic and World Championship sprint triple champion got most of his earnings through on track appearances and endorsement deals.
Bolt, however has dropped 27 places from 45 in 2014 to joint 73rd alongside Barcelona forward Luis Suarez on the ForbesMagazine list of the world’s highest paid athletes in 2015.
Retired boxer Floyd Mayweather, who earned USD $300 million topped the list for 2015 ahead of fellow boxer Manny Pacquio who made $160 million.
Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo is third with $79.6 million, followed by FIFA Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi $73.8 million and tennis star Roger Federer who earned $67 million dollars.
The top ten biggest earners in sports for 2015 is completed by Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James $64.8 million, Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant $54.1 million, golfers Phil Mickelson $50.8 million and Tiger Woods $50.6 million.
LA Lakers guard Kobe Bryant, who made $49.5 million, closes out the top 10 places.
