BUJU BANTON: Juror Guilty Of Contempt Face Jail Time
Buju Banton has four more years to serve in a Federal prison in the United States but one of the jurors who helped convicted him could be going to jail.
A Florida Federal judge rule the juror Terri Wright is guilty of contempt after she researched aspects of the case outside of the court.
Judge James S Moody sentenced Wright to five months probation but that is not all. She will also have to wright a paper on the cost to taxpayers of a six-day trial, as well as, complete 40 hours of community service.
If she break her probation she will face jail time.
Buju Banton, whose real name is Mark Myrie, was sentenced to 10 years in prison after being found guilty on three counts of drug trafficking in 2011.
The Grammy-winning reggae singer launched several appeal but failed to convince the justice system to set him free in all of them.
