New Orleans Pelicans sign Jamaican Jerome Jordan

Fast rising favourites, the New Orleans Pelicans have announced the signing of Jamaican centre Jerome Jordan for the upcoming 2015-2016 NBA season.

The team broke the news through an issued release over the weekend, adding that Jordan’s contract agreement comes a day after power forward Greg Smith failed his physical, which voided his non-guaranteed agreement deal with the Pelicans.

Jordan, who signed a non-guaranteed contract, will be playing alongside one of the league’s brightest upcoming stars Anthony Davis.

A past student of Jamaica College (JC), Jordan stands at an impressive 7 feet and weighs 253 pounds.

Having appeared in 44 games for the Brooklyn Nets during the 2014-15 season, averaging 3.1 points and 2.4 rebounds in 8.7 minutes per game, Jordan has also played college basketball for the University of Tulsa and represents the Jamaican national team in international competition.
