Beenie Man will be in ‘King of the Dancehall’
Nick Cannon, host of America’s Got Talent, has been keeping the information hush hush surrounding his movie project, King of the Dancehall.
However, Loop Jamaica has confirmed that Beenie Man, widely regarded as the ‘King of the Dancehall’ in entertainment circles, will do a performance in the movie, and he may also land a cameo role.
“Beenie Man will be performing a song in the movie but we have been approached for him to actually be cast in the film and have a speaking role. Beenie is definitely interested in being part of the film, after all he is the King of the Dancehall,” Rohan ‘Blue’ Smith said.
Since last December, Nick Cannon has frequented the island doing castings as well as undergoing dance training for the upcoming movie. Several artistes which span dancehall, rap and R and B, will be making cameo appearances.
Big names such as international rap superstar Busta Rymes have been spotted on the island this week. The rapper, who has Jamaican roots, was featured on Instagram posing for a picture with well known wardrobe personnel, Dexter ’3D’ Pottinger.
Canadian/Jamaican singer Kreesha Turner, who is seen posed on the back of a bike sprayed in the Jamaican colours, is also a lead in the film. Turner is signed to Cannon’s Ncredible label.
