Jamaica Collage are 2014 Olivier Shield champions
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jamaica College (JC) are 2014 Olivier Shield champions defeating Clarendon College (CC) 1-0 at the Juici Field in Clarendon a short while ago.
JC went ahead in the 16th minute through Akeem Shackleford from a Raffique Bryan cross.
Controlling the game from the start JC maintained the pressure on Clarendon College as the half ended.
On the resumption CC upped their game somewhat, but were unable to break down a sturdy JC defence.
JC have taken three titles this season copping the inaugural LIME Super Cup followed by the Manning Cup.
They were beaten 3-2 by St George’s College in the Walker Cup final. The Olivier Shield, symbol of schoolboy football supremacy, is contested between the winners of the rural based DaCosta Cup competition and the Manning Cup played for by schools in the Kingston Metropolitan Area.
