Jamaican DJ in Canada get over 6 years for rape

A Jamaican disc jockey who raped a severely drunk woman passed out in the back of  a car is to spend the next six and a half  years in prison in Canada.

29 year old Haldane Raynor — who performed in clubs as DJ Capone — was sentenced yesterday after earlier pleading guilty to sexual assault causing bodily harm.  Raynor — who has permanent resident status in Canada — will likely be deported to Jamaica after serving his sentence.

A Court of  Queen’s Bench Judge said Raynor took advantage of  the woman’s state. The victim was recovering from surgery for cervical cancer when the attack took place. The judge also noted Raynor had launched an unsuccessful bid to have his guilty plea struck out and said she did not accept that he was remorseful for what he did.
