Major drug bust at Kingston Wharves

Jamaican authorities seized a large haul of cocaine hidden in a shipping container at Kingston Wharves during a routine search operation on Sunday.

In a statement on Monday the Jamaican Constabulary Force says officers seized 267 pounds (121 kilograms) of packaged cocaine stuffed in black bags among a shipment of lumber.

Authorities say the shipping container at  originated in  Suriname and was destined for China.

Police put the estimated street value of the seized drugs at nearly J$1.3 million.

There have been no arrests.
