Fraser-Pryce finishes eighth in Eugene 200m
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Olympic and World champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce a short while ago finished a surprising eighth and last in the 200m at the Eugene Diamond League meet in the USA.
Relatively unknown American Tori Bowie took the top spot in a world leading time of 22.18, ahead of sprinters who have been dubbed the world’s best.
Nigeria’s Blessing Okagbare (22.23) and America’s Allyson Felix (22.44) finished second and third respectively.
Okagbare, clocking a personal best on Saturday, now leads the Diamond League race on six points.
Fraser-Pryce finished in a pedestrian 23.06 by her standards.
The race results were posted to Fraser Pryce’s Facebook page saying, “There is a first for everything. Thank you all for your continued support.”
