Kartel’s Attorney, Alessandra LaBeach, Gives Update About What Took Place In Court On Monday – Watch Interview
Alessandra LaBeach who is a member of Vybz Kartel’s legal team gave an update on Monday outside the Supreme Court – Public Building East, along Barry St, Kingston, telling journalists what took place in the court on the day.
“Today we primarily dealt with preliminary issues, issues as it relate to fresh evidence and the admissibility of some of the affidavits, tomorrow we begin the substantive hearing on the matter,” LaBeach stated while informing the reporters.
As per the lawyer, at the moment the team is “satisfied” with the first day of the court proceedings. She was asked whether or not she got a chance to contact Palmer Monday morning prior to the starting of the hearing.
LaBeach noted that with the fact that the court proceedings started before the 10 AM visiting time that’s mandatory at the lockup, she did not speak to the deejay prior to the court proceedings Monday morning.
In closing LaBeach outline that she’s “very hopeful” that in the end, the accused men will walk free, she also states that the men are eager to walk free and return to their families.

The Court of Appeal began hearing submissions this morning, with attorneys representing Campbell presenting an affidavit from the artiste’s sister arguing that he may not receive a fair retrial if they choose to do so because of Vloggers such as Sir P painting a bad picture of her brother online for everyone to see.
On the other hand, The Court of Appeal rejected an affidavit from Kartel ‘ son that argued that the 48-year-old deejay who has been in lockup for over 13 years now would not be able to stand another trial due to his failing health.
The pre-trial hearing is expected to go on until Friday, June 14, 2024.
