Shanique Singh Crowned Miss Jamaica World 2022 – See Photos
Shanique Singh was awarded the title of Miss Jamaica World 2022 at the Courtleigh Auditorium in Kingston on Sunday, December 4.
Singh is a 25-year-old medical student at the University of the West Indies (UWI) who wore the crown of ‘Miss Howard Johnson Realty‘. She has succeeded the former Miss Jamaica World 2021, Khalia Hall, and will be representing the country at the 71st Miss World pageant; the date is yet to be announced.
During the competition which had a total of 13 competitors, Singh also won the Serengeti Talent Fast Track Event, with a traditional Indian dance, and the Fort Clarence Beach Beauty Event.
Congratulations were sent from the Prime Minister, the Most Hon. Andrew Holness, who noted her accomplishment and applauded the other participants: “Congratulations to Shanique Singh on being crowned Miss Jamaica World 2022. I wish you a successful and inspiring reign. Congratulations also to the other brilliant and talented Jamaicans who competed for the crown. Let’s bring home that crown #MJW2022 🇯🇲,” he posted.
Lineisha Davis and Tahje Bennett were respectively announced as the first and second runners-up while Asheka Robinson and Toni-Ann Martin rounded out the Top 5 finalists.
