Bob Marley Being Killed By CIA AGENT Story IS A HOAX
The reggae legend died in May 1981 and his official cause of death is cancer. Since his untimely death, there have been a number of conspiracies surrounding what or whom may have played a role in the ending of his life. One such conspiracy is that the CIA has something to do with his death bu infiltrating his circle in the late 1970s and ultimately did something to end his life in 1981.
This week, a story popped up online claiming that a 79-year-old retired CIA agent name Bill Oxley confessed on his deathbed that he killed the reggae icon. We will not link to the article as to not give it any more attention than this. While on his deathbed at the Mercy Hospital in Maine earlier this week, Oxley made a number of confessions, allegedly, including that he committed some 17 assassinations while working as a CIA agent including the assassinations of one of the greatest musicians of all time.
Oxley claimed that he infiltrated Bob Marley’s inner circle using press credentials to gain access to the singer during his Blue Mountains retreat. He posed as a famous photographer working for the New York Times and told Marley that he has a gift for him. “I gave him a pair of Converse All Stars,” Oxley said. “Size 10. When he tried on the right shoe, he screamed out ‘OUUUCH.‘ That was it. His life was over right there and then. The nail in the shoe was tainted with cancer viruses and bacteria. If it pierced his skin, which it did, it was goodnight nurse.”
The site that published the story is a well known satirical site and they did not provide any sourcing for the lengthy article. Nevertheless, a number of celebrities and reggae fans shared the story on social media not known it’s potentially fake news.
Bob Marley Museum declined to comment on the story, but a close family source told Dancehall HipHop that the Marley family believes that the story is bogus. “No one believes the story and neither do they want this kind of bad publicity so that explains why they are not saying anything about it,” sources told us. “By speaking on it you give the story more life so they decide to just let it go.”
