Chronic Law Sends Strong Message as New Details Emerge About His US Case

Dancehall artiste Chronic Law issued a strongly worded message from custody on Thursday, shortly after new information was published about his immigration history and ongoing legal troubles in the United States.

The St. Thomas native, whose given name is Ackeme Jermane Campbell, appeared to respond to critics who have suggested he has been cooperating with US authorities.

“Unu cyaa style me nor play pon me name,” read part of the message posted to his Instagram account. He also stated that “court info dem ago public”, while rejecting claims being made about him.

The post came minutes after Nationwide News reported new details surrounding Campbell’s detention by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement earlier this year.

According to Nationwide, court documents show that Campbell’s O-1B visa was revoked on January 2 following his November 2025 arrest in Georgia. However, the outlet reported that because Campbell was already inside the United States, the revocation would not become effective until he left the country.

Campbell was detained by ICE 10 days later. Nationwide reported that an immigration judge terminated those proceedings on March 18, finding that he was not removable because his visa remained valid under those circumstances.

Campbell is now in federal custody on a separate firearm charge stemming from the November incident.

US prosecutors allege four firearms and 92 rounds of ammunition were found after Campbell fled deputies during a traffic stop. One firearm was reportedly stolen. Campbell has pleaded not guilty and was denied bail.

Federal authorities also allege Campbell later acknowledged possessing the weapons, saying they had been used as props in music videos.
