Usain Bolt Donates $1.7 Million to PEP Students in Hometown School
Jamaican sprint legend Usain Bolt has once again given back to his hometown community, donating J$1.7 million through the Usain Bolt Foundation to reward students who successfully passed their Primary Exit Profile (PEP) examinations.
The donation was presented to 17 students of Waldensia Primary School in Sherwood, Trelawny, with each child receiving J$100,000 to assist with back-to-school expenses. The school is located in Bolt’s hometown, where he has continued to support educational and community initiatives over the years.
Friday morning, Bolt shared a video of the presentation on social media, congratulating the students on their achievement. In his post, he wrote: “Congrats to all 17 students from Waldensia Primary School in my hometown of Sherwood on passing their PEP exams. Keep making your parents and community proud.”
Although the eight-time Olympic champion was seemingly not present for the ceremony, his mother appeared to represent him as the funds were officially handed over to the school.
The gesture was warmly received online, with many praising Bolt’s continued investment in young Jamaicans.
One person wrote, “Words cannot express my gratitude I’m very grateful & appreciative for your continuous support to our former school . Extremely proud of my daughter she’s the top student and I am forever humbled to me from Sherwood Content. Likkle but wi tallawah

Another said, “With humility God will continue to bless your basket continually so that you are able to pour into others and it doesn’t limit your amount 1 Usain Bolt
