Jamaica Secures 3 Bobsleigh Spots for 2026 Winter Olympic Games

Jamaica will be represented by three bobsleigh sleds at the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Milano Cortina after confirming qualification through the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation rankings.

The latest quota allocation sees the island matching its participation level from Beijing 2022, with entries confirmed in the monobob, two-man and four-man events. Mica Moore earned Jamaica’s place in the women’s monobob category following consistent results across the qualifying season.

In the men’s events, pilot Shane Pitter will lead both the two-man and four-man teams. For the two-man sled, Pitter is supported by a rotating crew including Nimroy Turgott, Joel Fearon and Junior Harris, while the four-man unit features Andrae Dacres, Junior Harris, Tyquendo Tracey and Joel Fearon.

The qualification comes on the back of steady performances throughout the IBSF circuit, where Jamaica remained competitive against more established winter nations.

A notable highlight of the campaign occurred in November 2025, when the national four-man team claimed gold at the North American Cup. Competing against host nation Canada, the Jamaican quartet posted a combined time of 1:45.88, finishing ahead of Canada’s 1:46.19.

Meanwhile, Jamaica’s women’s two-woman team narrowly missed direct qualification but remains in first alternate position. The crew is still eligible to compete at the Games should any qualified nation withdraw before the final entry deadline.
