Dancehall Artiste Mavado “Weh Dem A Do” Hits 20 Year Anniversary (VIDEO)

‘We dem a do’ was released in 2006, it is Mavado’s follow-up hit to his breakout hit song ‘Real Mckoy’ which was released in 2005. 2026 marks ‘Weh dem a do’ second decade or 20 years of release. ‘Mavado Weh Dem a do’ is a hardcore Dancehall song, letting everyone know that disrespects won’t be taken lightly because he has his own guns.’

“Weh dem a duh, weh dem a try, marrow wi fly to the sky, gun mi nuh barrow, mi money buy, smody wi die,” which is the chorus and the stand-out part of the song, would help to pave the way for the Gullyside deejay to have a long-lasting career that spands over 2 decades.

The song is featured on the ‘Redbull & Guinness Riddim’ made by Stephen “Di Genius” McGregor and was produced by Delly Ranx for Di Ranx Productions. The riddim also featured other top songs such as ‘Reload’ by Aidonia, ‘Gunshot’ by Vybz Kartel and ‘No Business’ by Sizzla.

‘Weh Dem A Do’ was featured on Mavado’s debut album, Gangsta for Life: The Symphony of David Brooks, it went on to be one of the stand-out tracks on the project.

In October of 2025, the ‘So Special’ deejay returned to the island after several years away. He was scheduled to perform in St. Ann for the first time since his return to the island, however, the much anticipated show was cancelled after Hurricane Melissa struck, causing widespread devastation.

Only time will tell when Mavado will return to the stage in Jamaica to perform ‘Weh Dem A Do’ and his many other hit songs.
