Embatted Dancehall Artiste Squash’s Sentencing Date Set!

Montego Bay Dancehall star Squash is set to learn his fate in a US federal court later this year, with sentencing scheduled for 24 November. The deejay, whose real name is Andrae Maurice Whittaker, recently pleaded guilty to being an illegal alien in possession of a firearm.

The charge stems from a traffic stop in February, during which police recovered two Glock pistols. Squash had reportedly been under FBI surveillance amid allegations that he was connected to a transnational gang, though his parents, mother and father, have strongly denied these claims, insisting he is being unfairly targeted as a musician.

As part of his plea deal, prosecutors have recommended a lighter sentence. According to the federal sentencing guidelines, Squash’s guilty plea places him at level 17, leaving him facing between 24 and 63 months in prison. However, federal rules stipulate that any inmate must serve at least 85 per cent of their sentence.

Despite the prosecution’s proposal, final sentencing rests entirely with the presiding judge. Squash could still face a much harsher penalty of up to 15 years in prison, followed by three years of supervised release.

Deportation also remains a strong possibility, as his plea agreement acknowledges that his offence carries the likelihood of immediate removal from the United States.

For now, Squash has not addressed the case on his social media platforms, which remain focused on promoting his latest music releases. If the court sides with prosecutors, the 6ixx Boss could serve less than five years behind bars, but the looming sentencing has left his future uncertain.
