Footage Shows Sha’Carri Richardson Assaulting Boyfriend at Seattle Airport: Watch Video

Newly surfaced surveillance footage has shed light on a heated incident involving U.S. sprinting star Sha’Carri Richardson and fellow athlete Christian Coleman at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport on July 27.

The video, released on Thursday, shows Richardson forcefully shoving Coleman multiple times during an argument as he repeatedly attempted to walk away.

The altercation, which took place in King County, Washington, led to Richardson’s arrest. According to Port of Seattle Police, the Olympic gold medallist was booked for fourth-degree assault and spent approximately 18 hours in custody before being released.

The police report states that the dispute began when Coleman took Richardson’s electronic headphones without her permission, sparking the confrontation. Officers say they made the arrest after reviewing surveillance footage that confirmed physical aggression during the exchange.

In a recent interview, Coleman downplayed the situation, suggesting their clash was rooted in both of their strong personalities.

“She’s a human being, and a great person… She has a lot of things going on, a lot of emotions and forces going on inside of her that not only I can’t understand, but nobody can,” he said. “She’s one of one. And I’m one of one too.”

Despite the incident, both Richardson and Coleman went on to compete at the USA Track and Field Outdoor Championships in Oregon this week, where they each advanced through their respective heats in the 100m event.

Richardson, the reigning world champion in the 100m, has yet to publicly address the incident. Her future with Team USA remains unaffected for now, as she holds a bye to the upcoming World Championships, pending good standing with USATF.
