Deva Bratt’s Family Launch GoFundMe Page, To Help his legal Battle After Arrest

Following his recent arrest, and detention by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (I.C.E) in the United States, the family of Dancehall Artiste Deva Bratt has orchestrated an initiative to fight for his freedom and right to remain in the country.

This initiative came in the form of a GoFundMe account that has been made as a method to collect donations to meet a target of $4500 USD.

This is in a bid to allocate funds towards the necessary professionals that will be able to represent the deejay in his pursuit of freedom once the legal fees are paid.

On the GoFundMe page, his family shared a statement which details things such as the cost for representation and how the family is currently dealing with the Portmore native’s detention.

The statement began with expressing the mood of the family amidst the whole situation, “Our beloved Sheldon has been wrongfully arrested and taken into custody, facing possible deportation. This entire situation has been heartbreaking for the family.”

The statement also said they won’t stop trying until the deejay is a free man.

The section that detailed the financial aspects of the situation read, “The legal costs for experienced representation are estimated at $8,500. These fees will cover legal representation, bond application, and necessary paperwork to give Sheldon the best chance at justice.”

The donation amount being requested is a little over half of the estimated amount for legal fees mentioned in the statement. The message from the family is that all donations are welcomed, no matter the quantity, as it will all go a far way in the deejay’s quest for justice.
