Sean Kingston and Mother ‘Hold on to Bible’ as Witnesses Testify Against Them in Fraud Trial

Wednesday was day three of the trial, so far, jurors have heard testimony from witnesses, including Ariel Mateos, who claimed that Kingston failed to pay for a high-end television. Mateos testified that he sold Kingston a massive 232-inch TV worth $115,000.

However, after receiving a $30,000 down payment, he installed the television but was never paid the remaining balance. He alleged that Kingston sent fake wire transfer receipts over several months but never completed the payment.

Kingston’s legal team countered that he had agreed to promote Mateos’ business through social media instead of full payment. A legal representative of Kingston told a reporter that there was a ‘breach of contract’ and organised fraud was not done by Sean Kingston nor his mother.

The singer whose real name is Kisean Paul Anderson and his mother who is also affectionately called Mama Kingston were arrested last year when a SWAT team raided Kingston’s Florida home, seizing multiple allegedly stolen items. Both have pleaded not guilty.

As seen in a circulating video, Kingston and his mother hold Bibles while leaving a federal court in Fort Lauderdale, they also reportedly held on to the bibles while in court according to NCB Miami.

Outside the courthouse, they declined to comment, though Kingston briefly addressed his supporters, saying, “All my fans that supported, I love you guys.” The trial continues as more witnesses are expected to testify.
