Jamaican Passport Moves Up Rankings to 60th Most Powerful Passport in World

According to the 2024 Henley Passport Index rankings, Jamaica has once again moved up the list by three places (from 63) to rank sixtieth (60th) as the most powerful passport in the world. Jamaicans can choose from a total of 90 countries to visit without a visa.

The Henley Passport Index is the official standing by which the world’s passports are ranked according to the number of countries a specific passport holder can travel to without the need for a visa. The rankings are updated every year.

Although Jamaica continues to climb the rankings, it remains on the weaker side when compared to some other passports in the Caribbean region. Some of these countries include Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, and Trinidad and Tobago.

At rank 22, Barbados has the highest ranking passport in the Caribbean region this year and 165 visa-free destinations, with the Bahamas falling into rank 24 with access to 158 visa-free destinations. This is followed by St. Vincent & the Grenadines and St. Kitts & Nevis at rank 25 with 157 visa-free destinations to choose from.
