Cocoa Tea “Very Much Alive”, Says Wife Of The Legendary Reggae Singer Amid Death Rumours
Following numerous speculations and rumours circulating online indicating that legendary Jamaican reggae singer Cocoa Tea has passed away, the wife of the entertainer sets the record straight and rubbish those claims.
According to Malvia Scott, Cocoa Tea “is very much alive,” she also urged the public to keep the entertainer in their prayers.
However, the entertainer’s wife revealed that the Clarendon native is currently in the hospital, seemingly in America. Cocoa Tea has been living in Florida for some time now, where he owns a home.
She continued by stating in an exclusive with The Gleaner, “As a family, we are asking everybody for prayers and we are also asking for privacy at this time.” Scott did not disclose as to what was the cause of the singer being hospitalised and what was the current state of his health.
Cocoa Tea, born in Rocky Point, Clarendon, rose to stardom in the late 80s and early 90s. The singer has produced countless hits in the reggae space, including, Holy Mount Zion, Young Lover, Rikers Island, Barack Obama, She Loves Me Now and Tune In to name a few.
