“Broken” Maja Hype Talks About Picking Up The Pieces After Arrest

After spending over a month in jail, comedian Majah Hype has slowly been making his return to social media and thanked his mother for helping him pick up the pieces during his time of need.

Hype, born Nigel Theron Joseph, was arrested on February 19 on charges of simple battery and felony charges of making terroristic threats and acts. The comedian was detained at the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office adult detention facilities in Georgia without bond.

Following his short stint in jail, Hype was released on March 24. According to reports, he was released on time served and immediately began celebrating his freedom, sharing a photograph of himself outside of the jail and conducting his first live stream last night on Instagram.

Hype is well known for his comedic skits on social media. As he slowly returns to normalcy, he announced on Sunday that he would be performing on the Love and Harmony reggae music cruise, which will be hosting two comedy shows as it sails to various Caribbean islands from South Florida.

On Monday, Hype thanked his mother for helping him during times of great need, sharing a picture of her embracing someone who appears to be the comedian. “The realest love ever!! When your broken who gonna pick up the pieces? Love you immensely!!! Thank you for everything mama,” Hype wrote.

Details of the incident that initiated Hype’s arrest and who the comedian allegedly threatened were not disclosed. Prior to his recent arrest and detention, he was held at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Centre in Canton, Georgia, in 2021 on two felony counts of kidnapping, making terroristic threats and acts, and simple battery.

His 2021 arrest followed accusations of domestic violence from his ex-girlfriend, Latisha Kirby Farrell.
