Jah Cure Gets New Court Date For May 17

Reggae artiste Jah Cure is scheduled for a pro forma hearing at a Netherlands court on May 17, where he will be required to answer to the dismissed charge of attempted murder that was slapped against him.

According to the Jamaica Observer who got information from Netherlands Public Prosecution service officer Tuscha Essesd, the court session will be used to determine if the singer whose real name is Siccature Alcock will need to remain behind bars while the prosecution tries to appeal the dismissed charge for attempted murder.

As it relates to the detailed operation of the upcoming court session, the judge will have the power of decision where the continuation of the singer’s detainment is concerned in the case where if they decide to keep him remanded it will be for a 90 days period. After that time it will require for the case to go through an actual trial which would have been months in the future, or for a pro forma hearing to once again take place.

The 43-year-old entertainer was convicted on a charge of attempted manslaughter on the 22nd of March where he was found guilty of stabbing Reggae promoter Nicardo “Papa” Blake, in Dam square, Amsterdam after the two had a dispute allegedly over money to be paid for a show.
