Foreigners must be vaccinated to enter the US from November 8

From November 8, all foreigners travelling to the United States must be vaccinated against coronavirus (COVID-19).

Kevin Munoz, White House Assistant Press Secretary, confirmed the updated travel requirement Friday on Twitter hours after Reuters broke the story.

“The US’ new travel policy that requires vaccination for foreign national travellers to the United States will begin on November 8. This announcement and date applies to both international air travel and land travel. This policy is guided by public health, stringent, and consistent,” Munoz tweeted.

Travellers, who have taken vaccines approved and authorised by the US Food and Drug Administration and World Health Organization, will be allowed to enter the US once they provide proof of vaccination.

Fully vaccinated travellers will still need to show a negative COVID-19 test that was taken within 72 hours of their arrival on American soil.

They will also not be required to quarantine on arrival.

The Centres for Disease Control and Prevention and other agencies will provide further details on the travel protocols, including requirements for people who recovered from COVID-19, ahead of the vaccine mandate coming into effect.
