Alkaline Issued Apology To UK Fans For Canceled Concert
Alkaline has issued an apology to his fans in the UK following the cancellation of his concert earlier this week.
The Vendetta leader was scheduled to perform at a sold out-show at the O2 Brixton Academy, but organizers were forced to pull the plug on the show after the deejay’s fans get rowdy. Moments before the start of the event, a large crowd gathered outside. Some fans broke through a security barrier and made their way inside the venue injuring one female. In a statement released to Dancehall HipHop, Alkaline reps told us that the artist is disappointed that he didn’t get to perform for his fans and is looking forward to coming back to the city for a performance.
“We apologize to all our fans who came out to see Alkaline at the O2 Brixton Academy,” a statement sent to Dancehall HipHop reads. “It was an unfortunate situation, as the artiste himself was disappointed, he was ready to perform for his fans. However, as a result of failure to control the crowd, and the assessment of potential damages, the event could not go on and for this, we apologize to the fans and all who were affected as a result.”
There is no word yet on a rescheduled date for the concert. Alkaline is gearing up for a big performance at the upcoming 2017 Reggae Sumfest in July.
