Jamaica……look out for stray crocodiles — NEPA
The Category 4 hurricane — down from Category 5 — is moving across the Caribbean on a path that could take it over Jamaica by Monday morning.
NEPA urged members of the public to be extremely cautious in areas close to swamps, wetlands and gullies, as crocodiles are likely to be displaced from their natural habitats during heavy rainfall.
The agency said crocodiles are likely to be seen in the following areas:
St Thomas: Albion, Cow Bay and Port Morant
Kingston: Seaview and Riverton City
Clarendon: Salt River, Mitchell Town, Portland Cottage, Rocky Point and Milk River
St Elizabeth: Parottee, Treasure Beach, Calabash Bay and Black River
