All island powercut leaves Jamaica in darkness
Much of Jamaica is in darkness on Saturday evening as a result of an island-wide power outage.
Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) confirmed the development with Loop News.
“JPS has started to restore power supply to customers following an all-island outage,” the light and power company said.
The cause of the power failure the company said, is not yet clear.
JPS noted that “power is expected to be restored to everyone within the next few hours.”
It is the second all island power outage to hit Jamaica this year.
