Usain Bolt Ranks 32 On Forbes Highest Paid Athlete List
Usain Bolt is among the highest paid athletes in the world. The Jamaican sprint legend is ranked at No. 32 on Forbes list of the 100 highest paid athletes in the world.
Bolt raked in a reported US$32.5 million in the last year alone and is expected to make around the same per year for the next few years. The track is looking to score another gold medal at the upcoming 2016 Olympic Games in Rio this summer.
Despite banking so much money, Bolt did not match up to the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi who ranked No. 1 and 2 respectively.
Ronaldo banked a reported $88 million, while his Barcelona rival, Lionel Messi, banked $81.4 million, with $28 million of that sum from endorsement deals. $32 million of Ronaldo’s income over the last year was from sponsorship deals including his deal with Nike.
Cleveland Cavaliers star Lebron James ranked No. 3 with $77.2 million, with $54 million of that coming from endorsement deals which includes a lifetime deal with Nike that could earn him over $1 billion.
