Earlier this week news surfaced that the “City” deejay became the latest dancehall act to have his work visa revoked over lyrics on a new single title “Save Yourself.” That single has yet to be surfaced.
Alkaline’s sister/manager, Kereena Beckford, is dismissing those reports as mere rumors.
“It’s all rumours,” Beckford said. “This is just something created by some unknown people who want to start something. Alkaline is not having any immigration issues anywhere. Right now, he’s in Germany and he’ll be leaving from there to go to London and then Canada, and all his visas are in tact.”
This also means that those allegedly cancelled shows are still on. Alkaline is also gearing up to release his new album New Level Unlocked on physical copy.
“We don’t have a release date set yet, but fans can look out for the print (CD) release of the album really soon,” she said. “Alkaline is happy with the support he has received on this project, and looks forward to continue sharing his music with the world.”
New Level Unlocked peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Reggae Album chart following its release in March.
