The 27-year-old musician is to be tried on charges of illegal possession of a firearm and assault at common law.

The charges against Prendergast — who is the son of Sharon Marley and FIFA referee instructor Peter Prendergast — resulted from an altercation with a security guard at the Bob Marley Museum on Hope Road in St Andrew on April 5, 2014.

He is alleged to have pointed a gun at the security guard during the altercation. However, a firearm has not been recovered.

Prendergast was arrested days later and subsequently offered J$200,000 bail.

He is based between Miami and Jamaica
