LA Lewis takes legal action against Ninjaman and Dr Love

The legal action stems over a picture disseminated over the Internet which suggests an intimate relationship between LA Lewis and Ninjaman’s allegedly gay son who is known as ‘Spuggy’.

A letter, written by Hannah Harris-Barrington, senior solicitor-at-law, gave the two artistes seven days to retract the slanderous statements and to issue a public apology or legal action will be initiated to recover “compensation, costs and legal interest”.

The allegation has spawned several pictures online some of which depict LA Lewis in what looks like a bridal veil next to Ninjaman’s son, Spuggy. LA Lewis has denied the rumours that he is involved in any sort of relationship with the man.

“The rumour is a figment of their imagination , the bwoy Dr Love a paste up picture all over the Internet. Ninjaman himself said it during an interview on the social network where he said that me and Spuggy live inna apartment for three months. I am a real Rastafarian and dem bwoy de ah demolish and belittle my beliefs and my character, that is why I am suing Ninjaman and Dr Love, dem go too far. Crazy people ah call mi from all over the world and dem nah apologise, that’s why me tek this next step,” he said.

“Mi a 100 per cent Jamaican and a real gangsta. Mi nah tek no diss from Ninjaman or Dr Love, dem have seven days to apologise. Ninjaman haffi go sell him old Benz when mi done wid him, and Dr Love haffi run way because him no have no money fi pay.”.

When contacted, Ninjaman laughed off Lewis’ threatened legal action.

“Tell LA lewis him say mi a mek Portia Simpson Miller and Prime Minister Andrew Holness sue him because ah pure disrespectful tings him put up bout dem on social media. Him  disrespect too many people inna the entire fraternity fi try that stunt de. Him a fool and furthermore, him not even have money fi hire lawyer fi sue nobody,” he said.

“Mi nah apologise…,” Ninjaman added.

Dr Love, who is known for his Heads of Government single, refused to apologise, and stuck to his guns.

“He said that he will sue, but there will be no apology. I am ready to go to court, anything I say on my Facebook page is my business, I don’t have to remove it as long as it is not detrimental to anybody. If LA Lewis is gay, he needs to come out of the closet, and mek people know who he is. Ninjaman himself say LA Lewis and ‘Spuggy’ – who dem say is Ninjaman son – together so me believe Ninjaman knows what he is talking about, and mi nah apologise,” Dr Love said.

Ninjaman’s son vaulted into the public spotlight during the General Election campaign when he was spotted transporting a number of gay men during a PNP rally.
