Jamaica listed as the ‘third deadliest place’ for British tourists

Jamaica has been listed among the top three deadliest places for British nationals to visit globally.

The deadliest places for British tourists to visit around the world have been revealed to be Pakistan, Tunisia and Jamaica, which were listed as the three top murder hotspots for British holidaymakers, the latest figures have shown.

It comes after more than 250 Britons were killed while abroad over the last four years, according to a Freedom of Information request by MailOnline.

There were 37 reported murders in Pakistan between 2012 and August 2015 – making it the most dangerous place for British travellers.

This was followed by 34 deaths in Tunisia, following the ISIS terror attacks that were carried out by a gunman in June of last year.

Jamaica had a reported 18 killings, followed by 15 in the United States.

The only other Caribbean country to figure in the top 15 deadliest places for British tourists is Barbados, with six murders there.

Among European countries, only France and Spain made the list, with a combined 20 British tourists killed in those countries. France accounted for 14 and Spain six.

Bangladesh, Brazil and Egypt had five murders each.

The figures also showed that the number of British murders increased by almost 60 per cent between 2012 and 2014.
