Vybz Kartel Wins Best Male Artiste Award

Despite being incarcerated for murder, Vybz Kartel has won the best male vocalist award from at the 2016 Youth View Awards (YVA).

Not only did the world boss win the best male vocalist awards but to the delight of his gaza fans, Kartel also won the favorite dancehall artist.

Vybz Kartel has continued to dominate dancehall from behind bars. This has caused many to question the rampant violence in Jamaica. The fact that Kartel continues to release songs even while locked up has many questioning law and order in Jamaica. Couple with the fact that a convicted murderer has such an impact on the young, leaves many to question if the violence ravaging the island can ever be quelled.

Another big winner of the night was Ishawna, who took home two awards. Tanto Blacks was also a big highlight at the award show as the “Real Rich” deejay earned multiple encores for his excellent live performance.Source
