Westmoreland, Jamaica pastor arrested for lottery scamming arrested

WESTMORELAND, Jamaica — Detectives attached to the Westmoreland Proactive Investigation Unit arrested a pastor for breaches of the Law Reform (FraudulentTransaction) (Special Provision) Act onCooke Street in Savanna-la-Mar on Saturday.

Reports are that on Wednesday, January 27, an operation was carried out at the pastor’s home on Cooke Street.

A search of a room he occupied yielded more than 50 sheets of paper populated with identity information of people living overseas.

Following further investigations, the pastor was this morning arrested for his suspected involvement in the illicit lottery scamming.

He will be interviewed in the presence of his lawyer following which formal charges will be proffered against him.
