10 things that ‘define a true Labourite ’ (JLP)
today’s presentation includes a somewhat light-hearted compilation of 10 things that define a true ‘Comrade’. Of course, the same was done in respect of the ‘Labourites’, with a sense of colour and even a bit of humour being interjected into both compilations.
A similar word of caution again: don’t take it all too seriously; remember, it’s the official‘silly season’, right?
Here goes with the defining attributes of a true ‘Labourite’.
- The firm viewpoint that the JLP represents the people’s real hope for economic freedom and prosperity, as the PNP only ‘nyam’ out the country’s resources when it is in power.
- The perception that the JLP builds up the economy in government, while the PNP destroys it. A true Labourite is supposed to hold the belief that while the JLP is busy serving the country, the PNP is only about serving themselves. This notion is centre around a perception that the JLP is more about business and the country’s welfare, as against the socialist tendencies of the PNP’s leaders, who believe in ‘christening dem pickney first’.
- What the Leader says goes for everybody else, a-la the ‘One Don’ syndrome.
- The willingness to follow Bustamante or his successors until mi dead!
- Publicly embracing Tivoli Gardens as a major centre of influence in the party, irrespective of the negatives of doing so, a-la, ”Shower Labourites”.
- Defending ‘Dudus’’ deeds to the hilt, while focusing on his opposite ‘bad man’ number, ‘Zeeks’, as having had an embarrassing fall from grace (check court records)
- Celebrating the don man culture of politics that has been pronounced in the party.
- Preaching the freedom message, but always weary of the influences of gangs of five, three, seven or eleven within the party.
- The notion that the PNP is ‘tricky’ and ‘can’t be trusted’, as if the JLP is a close relative to Mother Theresa.
- The viewpoint that the PNP is a cultist group, and “dem nuh good”!
