Busy Signal’s 2008 hit single “Nah Go A Jail Again” has taken on a renewed significance for the artiste.

After 3 Years Ago the recordingartiste, real name Glendale Gordon, was fined $30,000 and sentenced to six months in prison by Minnesota State District Court Judge Donovan W. Frank for absconding bail related to drug trafficking charges brought against him 13 years ago.

Busy Signal took to Instagram yesterday as he reflected on the ordeal:

“On this exact date 3 years ago I was freed from Prison. I can never forget. GIVING THANKS TO THE MOST HIGH JAH! From that to something Bigger….GREATER… THANKS TO THE CREATOR. GOD BLESS THE TURF!!”

On May 21, 2012, law-enforcement agents from the US, the United Kingdom and Jamaica served Gordon with an extradition warrant in Kingston as he disembarked a flight arriving from the UK following the completion of a European tour.

In March 2002 the Minnesota District Court Case no. 0:02-cr-00054-JMR-FLN: USA v. Gordon charged Glendale Gordon, at the time a resident alien in the US, with one count of Conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute cocaine, three counts of conspiracy to distribute cocaine (level 4) and a third charge of possession with intent to distribute cocaine. ‘Level 4’ is an indicator of conspiracy to distribute five or more kilograms.

In a Minnesota courtroom on July 19, 2012 Gordon pled guilty to removing his ankle bracelet-tracking device and fleeing to Jamaica for 10-years; the drug charges still remain but according to the artiste’s lawyer, KD Knight, U.S. authorities do not have the jurisdiction to prosecute him on those counts under the current extradition treaty between the US and Jamaica.

The “One More Night” deejay arrived in Jamaica November 16, 2012 after serving his time.

Dancehall artiste Elephant Man and Busy Signal’s manager (at the time), Shane Brown, greeted the deejay on his arrival at the Norman Manley International airport.

Busy announced his arrival via his Twitter page sending out a fewphotos in the process.

“Guess who is back! God is GOOD!”

“The Turf is back!!!!!! Give thanks”

“Turf and brothers reunited! Only God!”
