Jamaican Teen accepted in all top US Colleges using scholarship to bury mother

18-year-old Dellarontay Readus is in pain after loosing his mom.

“It’s just that it hurts so much, i can’t do anything else but cry,” Readus said.

The recent Melrose High Schoolgraduate lost his mother one month before starting classes on a full ridescholarship to Stanford University; The college he decided to go after being accepted to study at all Ivy League Schools.

“I hope she’s looking down on me, and she’s able to see everything i’m doing, i hope she’s able to see all the good work i’m going to put in this world,” Readus cried.

Readus mom died after years of dealing with stomach issues. He is planning his mother’s funeral and trying to figure out how to bury her. However, the process is tough, he is doing what he has to do to bury his mom, including digging into the money he earned.

“Basically, it comes down to the fact that we are poor, and we don’t have anything. We didn’t have anything in our whole lives, and we still don’t have anything now,” Readus said.

Readus also said that he did all this hard work in school so that he would be able to take care of his mother.

Readus had more than a 4.0 GPA and was valedictorian for his class.
