Usain Bolt donates $1.3million and equipment to his old school in Jamaica

Six-time Olympic gold medallist Usain Bolt has donated $1.3million to his financially challenge old school in Jamaica.

The world 100m and 200m record holder has shown his generosity by providing William Knibb Memorial High School with new sporting equipment and supplies plus $1.3million (£838m).

Bolt provided the financially challenged school with 50 pairs of football boots, shin guards, 50 Usain Bolt branded footballs and bibs to help the school in their campaign for this year’s ISSA FLOW DaCosta Cup.

“William Knibb played an integral role in the athlete that I am today so any time they call or anything I can do to give back, I am more than happy”, said Bolt.

The Puma-sponsored athlete Bolt, who recently returned to the island after his triple gold haul at the IAAF World Championships in China, also donated cricket bats, pads, clothing, gloves and balls to assist the school in their upcoming cricket season.
