Bobby Shmurda Pleads Not Guilty .. Facing 7 Years In Prison
Bobby Shmurda has pleaded not guilty to charges of promoting contraband in prison.
The Brooklyn rapper, whose real name is Ackquille Pollard, is accused of having his girlfriend smuggle a knife into prison for him to protect himself.
Shmurda, 20, is being held without bond on charges of gun charges and gang conspiracy. The rapper is facing felony and misdemeanor charges for promoting contraband, as well as, perjury and criminal possession of a weapon, according to a NY Times report.
He pleaded not Guilty to all charges. He is facing up to 7 years in prison if found guilty.
Shmurda’s girlfriend Kimberly Rosseau visited him in prison on June 21. She was observed giving him a metal object hidden in her bra. Prosecutors also accused the rapper of lying to a grand jury about the incident.
