The popular ‘gas pan challenge’ is still finding it’s way into the mix with Dancehall trending topics. A few artists are still debating on who created the slang.

The ‘gas’ slang first saw some light after pictures began flooding social media with well groomed women sporting gas cylinders on their shoulders. This is said to have been a funny spin off after a young woman won a cylinder of gas at a party and swung her prize over her shoulder as she made her way through the party.

Others began saying, however, that Dancehall artist Ding Dong is responsible for the slang while a week later Masicka posted on his Instagram saying that the slang was brought on by one of his songs.

However, Dancehall/Hip-hop artist, J Diamonds has said that he is the rightful owner of the slang. He stated that he developed the slang when he released his 2013 song “Fast and Furious (Press gas)” on ArmzHouse Record’s fist capital Riddim. J Diamonds also said that the other artists have blatantly stole his talk and are running with it as their own
