Mick Jagger Say Vybz Kartel, Jay Z As All-Time Favorite Rappers

Who knew that rock legend Mick Jagger listens to dancehall music. The Rolling Stone music icon says that Vybz Kartel and Jay Z are his two favorite rappers.

During a sit down Q&A on Twitter recently, Jagger was asked who are his all-time favorite rappers.

My favourite rappers… Vybz Carlin (Vybz Kartel), I like him, and I guess Jay-Z,” the rock star said while explaining that it is difficult to understand the incarcerated dancehall icon.

“One is very different from the other,” Jagger added. “Jay-Z’s got this whole body of work and he’s put himself together with great tunes as well, and Vybz Kartel is just completely mad dancehall and totally different. It’s very difficult to understand a word he says until you’ve heard it about 100 times.”

Back in the 1970s Mick Jagger collaborated with the late reggae legend Peter Tosh on his classic album Bush Doctor.
