Soul Legend Ben E. King Dead At 76
Legendary soul singer Ben E. king has died at the age of 76. The singer is best known for his classic hit “Stand By Me.”
According to TMZ, King passed away on Thursday at his home in New Jersey. Details surrounding his death are not known but he suffered from some sort of heart condition.
The single “Stand By Me” made it to Billboard Top 10 in 1961 before returning to the music chart in the 1980s. The single appeared on the Billboard chart a total of nine times and was also covered by a ton of big name artists including John Lennon.
Last month soul legend Percy Sledge died after a long battle with cancer. Sledge is famous for his classic single “When a Man Loves a Woman.”
