Jamaica win CARIFTA Games title again

Jamaica put on another master class to top the medal tables at the 44th CARIFTA Games that ended at the Kim Collins stadium in Basseterre, St Kitts on Monday.

The Jamaicans amassed a whopping 85 medals, comprising 41 gold, 25 silver and 19 bronze, to top the medal tables for a 31st straight year and 39th time overall in the 44th year of the championships.

Jamaicans also accounted for 10 of the 14 new records that were broken over the four days of competition.

The Bahamas finished second in the medal tables with 31, including eight gold 13 silver and 10 bronze, followed by Barbados with seven gold four silver and five bronze.

Trinidad and Tobago finished fourth with six gold eight silver and eight bronze, Grenada won one gold three silver and four bronze for fifth spot, while hosts St Kitts/Nevis had their best ever showing with a gold two silver and six bronze.
