Usain Bolt among ESPN’s 20 best the last 20 years

Usain Bolt, the six-time Olympic gold medalist, has been ranked as the 16th greatest athlete in the past 20 years in a list compiled by ESPN.com to celebrate its 20th anniversary.

Retired NBA great Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Tiger Woods, Tom Brady and Roger Federer are the top five on the list.

Bolt, the fastest man that ever lived and an eight-time World Championship gold medallist was also placed behind such luminaries as Serena Williams, Peyton Manning, Kobe Bryant, Michael Phelps, Derek Jeter, Shaquille O’ Neal and Lionel Messi, who is ranked 12th.

Lance Armstrong is ranked at 13th despite being exposed as a cheat, who had his seven Tour de France titles stripped after he was found to have doped his way to his goals and earnings of over US$100 million.

Tim Duncan is ranked 14th while Brett Favre is 15th.

Floyd Mayweather is ranked 17th, while Mia Hamm, Barry Bonds, and hockey player Sidney Crosby round out the list.
