Jamaica – Embassy thrower was upset about cost to replace travel docs

A man who threw a bag over the wall of the United States Embassy in Liguanea, Kingston, was upset about the cost of replacing his travel documents.

The man has been identified as Elliott Kane, an American citizen.

Kane reportedly approached the embassy at about 7:30 am on Wednesday and threw a knapsack over the wall of the compound

His action triggered a quick response from Jamaican law enforcement officials and US Marshals.

Kane had reportedly lost his travel documents. Upset at the cost of replacing them, he threw the bag over the wall to draw attention to his financial plight.

The incident happened eight days before the arrival of US President Barack Obama.
