Dancehall Artiste Assassin (Agent Sasco) helps Food For The Poor build homes
Dancehall artiste, Agent Sasco said that Food for the Poor (FFP) may have helped his family.
The entertainer, who was born Jeffery Cambpell shared an Instagram video of himself providing support to one of the many efforts of FFP – building homes for the less fortunate.
“I realise that I may have benefitted from FFP,” he said last year at the launch of the charity organisation’s inaugural 5K, which is set for May 9.
He explained that his record label, Board House Records was inspired by the house he grew up in, at Kintyre, St Andrew.
Under the theme, “Changing lives, supporting families …” the 5K aims to raise money to build houses for “the poorest of the poor” in Jamaica.
FFP-Jamaica partners with a number of stakeholders including churches, non-governmental and private sector organizations, children’s homes and service organisations throughout the island that deal directly with the poor to fill their most urgent needs and to encourage self-sufficiency. The work of Food For The Poor is funded by donations.
Its goal is to improve the health, economic, social and spiritual conditions of the men, women and children we serve through emergency relief aid and programmes in the areas of housing, food, medical, water, sanitation, education, agriculture, outreach and micro-enterprise.
