Chinese businessman charged in Jamaica for ‘knock off’ goods
Police have slapped charges on a Chinese businessman who was caught with $50 million worth of ‘knock off’ goods at his warehouse in downtown, Kingston on Tuesday.
Charged is 41-year-old Lan Yang.
He was given $300,000 station bail and is set to appear in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court on March 27.
Yang and another Chinese national were arrested after cops from the Counter Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigation (C-TOC) branch of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) C-TOC seized several cases of fake Nike, Polo, Adidas, Puma, Vanz, Levi’s, Converse, and Clarks shoes an operation at a warehouse on Orange Street.
