Reggae superstar Etana soared to #2 on the reggae iTunes
Reggae superstar Etana soared to #2 on the reggae iTunes chart this week with the re-release of her single, Better Tomorrow, which has been chosen as the theme song for an Ebola Awareness initiative.
“The first week sales were 1,000 units and it landed at 22 on the Billboard Reggae singles chart. We are expecting a stronger push this week as the PR efforts will be doubled and channelled through the UN networks,” Andre Morris, artiste manager of Etana, said in a release.
In early March, she performed at the United Nations General Assembly Hall, during a private concert “Stop Ebola and Build For the Future” led by United African Congress, Give Them A Hand Foundation and the Friendship Ambassadors Foundation. She delivered a breath-taking set – performing songs off her latest album I Rise as well as her single Better Tomorrow, which has been chosen as the campaign’s official anthem.
In the meantime, Etana’s Trigger and Richest Girl videos continue to enjoy excellent rotation on local TV stations. The singer will embark on a US tour in May this year alongside Anuhea, a Hawaiian contemporary folk rock singer and songwriter of Caucasian, Hawaiian and Chinese descent.
“Anuhea is a great singer and a wonderful artiste, I am looking forward to the experience,” she said.
Etana will return to Europe this Summer to perform at the major reggae festivals.
