JAMAICAN TRACK STAR FOUND DEAD IN NEW YORK HOTEL

Sabrina Cammock, a senior track and field star at Syracuse University, was visiting the city on spring break with a group of friends. They all went out together Friday night, then returned to their rooms at the Edison Hotel to sleep. Cammock passed away sometime over night and was found around 9:30am Saturday, the cause of death unknown.

Police say there were no signs of forced entry, no signs of trauma to Cammock’s body, and no drugs found in her hotel room, so they do not suspect foul play. The New York City medical examiner’s office performed an initial autopsy, but the results were inconclusive. The investigation continues with more tests and an extensive autopsy being done in attempt to find the cause of death.

The 22-year-old sprinter, ran both indoor and outdoor track with the Syracuse University track and field team for four years. She was part of the school’s record holding 4×100-meter relay team and had competed just last week at the ACC Indoor Championships.

The oldest of four children, Sabrina Cammock was from Watt Town, St. Anns Jamaica and was currently residing in Queens NY. She was a senior majoring in public health. She Cammock, a senior, was studying public health at Syracuse’s David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics
