NEW YORK — Lovers rock singers Cocoa Tea, Sanchez and Richie Stephens are featured acts alongside American soul act Freddie Jackson, for ‘Ladies Ball’, scheduled for February 8 at the Resort World Casino ballroom in Queens, New York.

Promoter Bobby Clarke told the OBSERVER ONLINE that the show, as its title suggests, is all about romance.

“With Valentine’s Day just a few weeks away, the time is perfect to present another intimate, up close and personal concert for the ladies,” he said.

This is the second staging of the show which was first held last year with Sanchez among the headliners.

Stephens, enjoying a wave of popularity in Jamaica with his song and dance of the same name (Everybody Dance), makes his first appearance; so too Cocoa Tea, one of the veterans of dancehall music.

Jackson has always had a strong Jamaican following, thanks to songs like Rock me Tonight and You Are My Lady.

Other performers scheduled for ‘Ladies’ are New York-based KC Oneil and Lady Saw.
